The EXCHANGE Project

EXCHANGE is a web-based trading system, which allows registered users to exchange items they don't want for something they do. EXCHANGE was my final-year project for my degree course, BSc (Hons) in Internet Computing.

Third prototype: Implemented functionality

The third prototype will showcase a major improvement on the previous prototypes. New or improved features include:

  • Users can exchange items with other users
  • "Manage your items" page is now the "My EXCHANGE" page, pulling together details of listed items, offers and messages
  • Input cleansing (to prevent SQL injection attacks amongst other things) implemented
  • Entire site redesigned with a new interface
  • Send and receive messages to and from other users using the internal message system
  • HTML or Plain text email confirmation of registration, adding, deleting and exchanging of items

Test the third prototype

Second prototype: Implemented functionality

Mockups of EXCHANGE homepage and trade pages

The two links below showcase two mockups which I created to show how the site would eventually look. The first mockup is the homepage, which shows possible layout and sections. The second mockup shows an example of an exchange, where the user is asked for confirmation of the exchange. Both pages were built entirely using XHTML and CSS
